Our Commitment

O'Leary Plumbing & Heating, Inc., doing business as O'Leary Plumbing, Heating & Electrical, is committed to making our website accessible to every visitor, including people with disabilities. We believe the customers we serve — homeowners across Walworth, Waukesha, and Racine Counties since 1958 — deserve to find the information they need to call us for plumbing, heating, cooling, electrical, or water-quality help quickly and easily, regardless of how they experience the web.

Conformance Target

We work toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, published by the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative. WCAG 2.2 AA is the current industry-standard target for ADA-defensible accessibility, and aligns with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III as it is currently interpreted for public-facing business websites.

Measures We Take

To support accessibility, we:

Use semantic HTML — landmark regions (`header`, `nav`, `main`, `footer`), one `h1` per page, logical heading order, and labelled form controls.
Provide meaningful alt text for informative images. Decorative images use empty alt text (`alt=""`) so they are skipped by screen readers.
Support keyboard navigation — every interactive element is reachable by Tab in a logical order, with a visible focus indicator. No keyboard traps.
Meet AA color-contrast ratios — body text against background meets at least 4.5:1; large text and UI components meet at least 3:1. Color is never the sole means of conveying information.
Honor reduced-motion preferences — animations and parallax effects respect the `prefers-reduced-motion` operating-system setting.
Use accessible form patterns — visible labels, `autocomplete` attributes on personal-information fields, error messages associated with their input via `aria-describedby`, and clear consent text on phone-collection forms (TCPA + A2P 10DLC compliance).
Set the page language — `<html lang="en">` is set so assistive tech reads our content in the right voice.
Test with assistive technology — including spot-checks with VoiceOver (macOS, iOS) and NVDA (Windows), keyboard-only navigation, and 200% browser zoom.

Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some content on this site may not yet meet WCAG 2.2 AA. Known gaps we are actively working to close include:

Third-party embeds — Google Maps embeds, Synchrony Financial's application widget, and any future third-party chat or scheduling widgets are controlled by their respective providers. Their accessibility may vary, and we cannot directly fix issues in their code; we contact each vendor when we identify a barrier.
Older blog posts — articles imported from prior site builds may lack the alt text or heading structure we apply to newer content. We are auditing and remediating these as part of our content-architecture work.
PDF documents — manufacturer spec sheets and rebate forms hosted on our site may not be fully tagged for screen readers. If you need an accessible version of any document, contact us and we will provide it.
