+ - Should I get a second opinion on my HVAC or furnace quote?
Yes — almost always, when the quote is over $3,000 or recommends a full replacement. A second opinion catches three things: oversized equipment (vendors over-spec to cover themselves and you pay for it in install + bills), scope creep (line items you don't need), and quotes that miss available rebates. Our review takes about 20 minutes once we have the quote in hand.
+ - How do I know if a plumbing quote is fair?
A fair plumbing quote shows the parts at retail (not 4× markup), labor at a per-hour or per-job rate that makes sense for the scope, and a permit line if one is required. If the quote is one all-in number with no breakdown, that's a red flag. We'll show you the line-item math.
+ - Will you tell me if my other company's quote is too high?
Yes. If we think the price is fair we'll say so — we've sent customers back to the original contractor when their quote was right. If we think it's high or the scope is wrong we'll show you why with a written estimate of our own at the same scope. You decide what to do with that.
+ - Is the second opinion really free? What's the catch?
No catch. We don't charge for the review and there's no obligation to use us for the work. We do this because, for 67 years, the way we've grown is by being right — and homeowners with quotes already in hand are the easiest people to be right with. If we earn the job, great.
